Fixing up a second hand UPS that I got from Ebay to replace one of my surge damaged Smart-UPS1250 units. This one is an SUA1500.

I? think my new one upstairs (SMT1500) does, but I’m not sure about the one in this video.
Does your Smart UPS 1500 keeps the fan rotating at low speed all the time, even after turning? it off? I’m asking because mine does. Thanks.
that beep? can be used as a torture device. just saying.
Auto Voltage Regulation. It basically? keeps the line voltage steady when needed, without switching to battery.
Hi, What is the AVR Trim and? AVR Boost?
You have to use lead acid type, since Gel has a different? charging voltage. It’s best to use the proper batteries which are an RBC7 kit.
Hi i was thinking to put? in it 2x12v 17ah gel batteries or can i put biger batteries? Thanks
mine has one bloated cap and it? runs a lil bit hot but i just recently cleaned all the dust outta it
I tried to install my Radeon X1650 in my GX280 (has PCI-E), but it´s a touch too tall. Too bad!
Check your 270 for bad caps. I´ve heard that the 270 is prone to cap? failures. No bad caps on my 280 so far. Is your PSU running hot as well?
yes i do have a gx270? and im lookin into gettin a video card for it but i cant seem to find any good low profile agp 256 meg cards for it
could also be a gx260 or a gx280. My GX280 looks the same and? has the same connectors on the front. Do you have a GX270?
is that a dell? optiplex gx270 behind it?
, You could use a bigger battery, but only to a point. The charging system can only handle? so much, and the battery meter will go out of calibration because of firmware limitations.
Couldn’t you just wire up a deep cycle car battery to this thing and it should run A LOT longer even on high loads.? I’ve seen a video on here where someone did that and they ran a stereo on it.
Thanks for? your reply. Can we rig two battery’s together and get a longer run-time?
Yep, and that is a constant load. A computer? would run a lot longer on it.
500watt load took? about 29minutes to drain the battery? Is correct?
The only thing to look out for? Cards that have been flashed with the firmware for a Matrix UPS, Symmetra (sp?) or power distribution unit.? They can be reflashed to SmartUPS firmware, although I had to do that over a serial link at 2400bps for the base firmware (AOS).
The only ones I’ve had trouble with are the Chinese made units. All others seem OK. The disconnect is actually in addition to the physical plug at the back on the black unit. It also appears to be on a timer…after about? fifteen minutes or so, the microcontroller will shut itself down in the same way.
You can use the newer cards and at least as far back as an AP9605/06…I’m using that in a SmartUPS 2200.
This 1500 was made in the Philippines. For the disconnect, were you referring to the old beige ones? The black ones? have the actual plug on the back.
One thing I’d like to know, is which cards work in which units. I’m not sure if all Smartslot cards are compatible with all units, because I’ve never used one. I think I need an AP9617?
I’ve got two of those…one a 750XL and the other a 1500 just like that one. Both are now 10+ years old…other than batteries (two sets for the 750, three for the 1500), their performance has been flawless. Both are US made.
If you install a management card, watch that the connector doesn’t fall into the unit. One of mine did that!
These do have a disconnect function…IIRC? you have to turn them off, unplug the power and hold down the 0 button until a click is heard.
@HackingWii14 I’m still using the same camera, just a newer version of Cyberlink Powerdirector. ? Not sure why the frame rate is slower.
I have a SU1000inet (beige) for which I purchased a brand new official replacement battery cart from apc. Originally purchased from ebay with a ‘new battery’ which lasted just a few months before giving out. Replaced with an official APC one and has been running for years now and still giving 40 minutes? run time for my 2 boxes. Its been very reliable for me. Well worth the money spent id say! Perhaos I should video my setup some time.
They are Ebay user SLABattery. Currently they are out of stock on all? 12 volt batteries though.
LOL ya, I found that out after? a minute. I am so used to the older 1250′s with the tap functions. They were the only Smart-UPS units I’ve owned until now.
