It should have a latch that slides to the right to loosen the cable to be removed. It will need to be in that position to plug in the cable. You will insert the cable and then slide the latch to the left. There is only one piece of the latch that will slide and should not be remove completely. If it is removed, it’s incredibly difficult to reinstall. If the latch is broken for some reason, finding just? the latch is difficult also. You may have to find a bad motherboard on ebay just for the latch

Could use some help… Got to the reassembly and as far as connecting the ribbon cable for the power bar and can’t get it to connect/insert. Any? suggestions?

My guess would? be a bad DC jack or possible a short in the power charger board. It’s hard to say without having the laptop to test.
hey guys… great tutorial, exceptional… question… plug my power cord into this dell laptop and whamo… light goes out and it wont power up laptop. laptop battery? is dead… was working yesterday… must of left laptop in standby mode or hibernate and battery went dead?

I haven’t opened up the laptop yet. Still trying to see if Dell would send me a replacement first. I thought I do? my research to see how difficult it is to replace the motherboard. Thanks for your help!
No there are a number of different screws available? for the Dell Laptops. Do you have a particular screw that you are trying to locate? Maybe I can help you find it on our website.

hey my sister got the labtop when it was new so it have no cam,no? finder password thing,and it use intel graphic will the newer mother board work on the labtop screem?
