Don’t really think you can. The only thing you might be able to do is? compare the readings of a bad one with a good one.
How to test an Integrated? Circuit?
Black ones are not grounds. Just check? the black ones on one probe and the red on the other. Doesn’t really matter which one.
You can get a long wire and run it next to? it as an extension.
What if the wire I’m? trying to check is VERY long, like one use for sprinkler controller? Is there an easy way to check for connectivity?
Thanks.
i took off the dimmer switch to change it to a reagular pole switch. however from the dimmer box was two black wires connected to one red wire and two black wires that had been twisted together. i want to test the the red and both black wires are the black? ones the grounding wires.anyway how do i check the wires with a craftsman multimeter
This one is an Ideal 360 model. ?
What brand / model? is that multimeter?.
Have you checked to see? if the multi meters battery needs replacing ?
220V for? ever!!!
Not all meters? are able to read cont.. Sounds like it could be broken though.
MY dad gave me his old multimeter, but I think it’s broken. There are 3 ports: Ohms, COM, and V. When I put the black in COM and red in V and set it to continuity it displays 1 then I touch? the 2 probes to each other nothing happens. When I set it to 2V DC it displays .000 then I put it on either side of a battery, likewise nothing happens (same w/20). The only time I see the numbers change is when I turn the dial or remove a probe it jumps & then it quickly goes back to 0 or 1. What’s going on?
Thanks!?
Please drop a video on speakers and ohms. Maybe explain benefits of higher ohms or purposes of various ohm rates. Your video was excellent because the modeling done using a common cable? is relatable. This is applicable for testing continuity on the common water heater elements in most homes. Possibly saving regular folks from replacing expensive water heaters. Ty
Great video. Very? informative…

I have an outlet in the new apartment that has no power. I have no idea where it’s coming from or what it’s tied to. ? All the other outlets and switches have power, and there are no tripped breakers. Any ideas?
Really depends on the meter. Some? will show letters and change to numbers when a connection is made.
Your multimeter has a buzzer for your continuity. What is a multimeter does not have a buzzer? What should we look for?? How do ya tell?
Awesome, glad I? could help!
Thank you your tutorial helped? me a lot !
Yikes!?
thanks. What messed? me up tonight(nice spark in the face) was the white wire being hot. I’m starting to get it but man it is frustrating. I love it though!
Thanks, love? hearing it!
The? best multimeter tutorial out there! Thanks!
Thanks, I appreciate? it!
