hi there i was wondering if you would be able to? tell me the part number for the two silver pieces that cover the power button assembly
Thanks for posting the vid. It was a huge help. I had taken my laptop to 3 different tech shops and all told me I needed a new motherboard. I used your vid to take apart my laptop and used the tips in your comments to folks and now I have my trusty steed back up and running. Thank you so much!? You saved me a ton of money. You rock!
I want to know if the cpu on this laptop is replaceable or if it is built into the mobo? If you can give me an? answer without me having to tear mine down, it would be much appreciated. All i can find online is about the next model (nv53) and they say its socket s1…not sure if this also applies to this series laptop.
Thanks!
I have a Gateway NV53 that was overheating on me when I would play games.
I followed this video & completely took apart my NV53, cleaned it & also, applied Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound replacing? the stock thermal compound on it & now it does not overheat.
A drop from 90c-95c playing games to 80c-85c while playing games.
Thanks? Very Helpful!
hey? could you make a video on how to replace a graphic card i have the same laptop
this video is so discouraging -_- ?
HI Midnightmodder, thank you for the video it really help .. Just one question … at 4:41 in the video … you disconnect the screen and detach wires there but there are also a black wire with? 2 claw type connections and a blue and white wire with the same connections … what do they attach to when putting it back together???? I changed the power connection on the mother board after everyone else told me it was too difficult … Your video made it possible.
The music is really cool too …
MM, and thanks for this video, I got a screwed power cable and already let some monkeys play with it.. Gateway service here in Tianjin China.. You know what they did.. First told me it’s a motherboard.. Replaced it.. There about a week later, the same thing.. Almost? throw it to them.. This anyway they fixed for about 2 months by soldering some new thing wires to the start button.. Now they have snapped.. But thanks to your video.. I am going to replace the cable myself.. Good job…
do you know? how to change a blown back light on this model?
Thanks,? this video helped me get mine apart!
Very helpful, got my laptop completely apart now I must? clean it.
hey great video! I was wondering what you used to make the round pads on the bottom of the? laptop?
I got stuck unplugging the? power button from the board, the manual shows to slide it to the right but the cables are on the left. It’s not really clear in the video either – what to do?
the ribbon? could have been a little lose
ever since i cracked the last one over your head, Surprised you can still type!? WOW
Thank you very much for this video. I could not figure out one step. I had been? stuck on it for hours.
In your opinion do you think is it worth instaling SSD hard drive on NV52 and which one you? think would fit inside?
@williejenkins666 Man how? long have you been in your shell!
After removing heat sink go ahead and pick up some copper from the hobby store. Cut it down to the size of the heat? sinks copper size. I placed artic silver 5 on both sides of the copper. Screw heat sink back down. Download core temps and run it before performing the job so you can make sure your temps go down. with cutting the square out and installing a shim mine drop 20 degrees. Perform it at your own risk! lol

hi midnight. ? i started taking my nv53 apart but stopped halfway through it b/c i didnt really know what i was doing. I reassembled everything and my track pad quit on me. everything booted fine and was in working condition, except that my track pad stopped working completely. I was wondering if you knew the reason for this and had a possible fix for me.
