For anyone having issues with a laptop not charging or recognizing the plug adaptor. Apparently this is a universal problem. I had two Dell Adamos, and a Dell XPS that had the same problem before they were one year old. The Dc Power Jack Socket stopped working. Either the heat cracked the internal connections, or the plug got pushed too hard & dislodged it off the motherboard. The 1st time I paid? $400 for a new motherboard because it is soldered to it. The 2nd time I couldnt afford it.

I bought an XPS 15 last year & the plug became loose again and it refused to power up or charge. On the xps, the power jack socket its soldered to the base plate and is a bit of a cheaper repair, but it takes a professional, and without a warranty it will cost you.? Not long after that the XPS USB connectors did the same thing where they were loose, and stopped working. Apparently those connectors broke off the board too. Dell had to replace the motherboard and the base plate just this weekend.

Lesson learned, always purchase the on-site warranty if you want the computer to last past one year or more. It is a shame a great computer is taken down by the power connections that are sub par on the? motherboards and base plates.

I finally got a new screen for my mini 1012. I installed? it but somehow the coonector (thing held together by piece of tape. Sorry, don't know the proper name of it) became jarred loose while I was putting the new screen in. I got it all put back together and plugged it into the wall. It flashed its white lights and then a few seconds later it beeped 8 times really loud. My husband then took it apart again and fixed the connector. He put it back together and now it won't start up at all. The
