Thanks for the help with the disassembly! I did the penny fix using a hairblower, and my TX2Z is working with Windows 8 like a? charm now.
Hello. I just want to thank you personally. My tx2500 wasn’t booting, whenever I turned it on the caps and num lock stayed blinking without video output. Thanks to your video, I could see where the RAM modules were inserted. I removed the 1 GB? module and turned the laptop on, and it booted without problems. Thank you, thank you very, very, very much.
That? link is NOT working anymore…
thank you, bro… i did? it and i made it..
thanks, i already dissasembled mine, but i struggle with the mobo.. now i? know what screw should i take off
Thanks? for the guide. I fixed a friend’s with this. I used a 1500W hair dryer with the aluminum foil. I don’t believe the solder is moving however the chip is a mounted sub board that uses epoxy and I believe the heat allows you to push the contacts back where? there is a closed circuit. I used a new penny and Arctic Silver 5 paste. I was surprised when the PC booted up with the screen on like new as it was black as coal before the repair. Reset bios clock if you pull the bat to clear checksum.
With this video, I was able to remove a King Kong ball of cat? fur from the fan and my trusty (after 3 warrenty trips to HP in 2008) touchscreen is back in business. Thanks
abeijon100, thanks man!
I was able to make the easily broken tx2 GPU work again using your instructions on how to dis-assemble it. I used a heat gun on the GPU (on all 4 sides) then press it using paper as insulator (don’t touch it with bare hands) then? re-assemble. However, the fan still works ‘overtime’ thereafter even in cold ambient temp. I just have to backup my important files now. This is the last time I’m buying an HP product…..after years of patronizing them.
Thanks again & bye, HP!
hi thanks for the video, I was wondering if i disamble the note? book just like you would i lose the data on my hard drive ? or it doesnt affect it because you have to leave it inside and just not touch it?
thanks for the tutorial, very illustrative
it helped me out to dissasemby my pavilion tx 2532la in order to fix the gpu overheating with a penny
but, I have another problem now, the tablet gets stuck at the startup splash screen with the invent logo
pressing esc key shows “ESC…Pause? Startup”, any other F# key won’t work either
any suggestion on this one?
After putting the laptop back together, now only the charging light? lights up when plugged in. And there is now no response when trying to power up. Is there something I forgot to do while reassembling ??
I did the graphics chip ‘reflow’ using a heat lamp for about 5-6 minutes, and added the penny to dissipate heat, it actually worked for about? 8 months then one day *bloop*… black screen once again. I’m contemplating trying to fix it one more or just smash the whole thing with a sledgehammer…
Before you use the penny trick, check the composition of the coin. Easily done by checking in wikipedia. In addition. Use a good thermal paste for both the GPU and CPU as well as clean the CPU fan. Also do a good job in trimming the copper and take your time to sand it to even out the surface.? Don’t do a half ass* job. You’ll just end up wasting your time.
Thanks for the video. As for the temp of my laptop – HP TX2-1024CA it actually drops to about 50c degrees now before it wasn’t even after changing the power profiles in windows. I used the penny trick. I looked for a 1975 1 cent coin with 98% copper and trimmed it so that it fits the shape of the old thermal contact that HP used. I’d say it did the job so far. Before, the laptop temp. would shoot? to about 89c degrees after few minutes of usage. Now it’s working. Thanks.
Thank you ! I needed to clean? my fan.
I need your help, but my fan is working slower, sometimes my screen glitches and goes black , but it still seems? active , i tested leaving music on, and it continues. what do you siggest or recommend? I know this vid is old. but i’m kinda broke and can’t buy a new laptop yet. my concern is mostly the screen.
That is just what I was looking? for, excellent vid!
do you know how to fix/replace the headphone plugs under the mouse, the middle one only works for me the first one is broken or it does not it stoped working. when i plug my headphones on the first? hole i can’t hear nothing and on the second one i can
