hi um i have the first crappy charger you showed,? my question is how long would it take to charge my lipo,
here are the specs of the charger and battery.

8C
and the charger doesn’t state voltage but it does say 1.2A
do i need a balancer and a charger? sorry im a noob? at this and m scared to blow up my house please help
i have a 5000mah 7.4v 40-50C lipo and the max charge rate it 2C. how do i figure out how many amps to charge it at? i also have a 5000mah 11.1v 40-50C lipo and the max charge rate is 5C, how , many amps do i charge that at??

it happened after 2 cycles,i wont be sending it back to hobbyking, id rather nurse it better or? reduce the pack to 4s.
Yeah that can happen with cheaper lipos. It will still work fine but will give you less charge time? on the battery. Was it like that from the beginning? or it happened after using it for several times?

may i ask 1 more question.
in? a 4 cell battery, what would you do if you noticed a weak cell or a cell that wasnt as good as the others.
for example… after finishing a balance charge, all cells are at 4.2v except 1 of those cells is at 4.1, while balance charging, you notice that cell falling behind so when all other cells are at 3.9v, this 1 cell is at 3.6v.
some of the far east lipos are particularly prone to doing this.

coz if u fully charge the battery and you don’t use it for quite some time it may get damaged. Lipo batteries are very good but delicate. You must take good care of them in order to? serve you for a long time

every charger im aware of will need the main blk/red wired plugged in also.
A balancer like the hobbyking medic doctor will charge your battery through the balance port, thats only because its desighned to balance out of sync cells, and it should be noted takes several hours to do so.

the? rule is 1c per every 1000mah
so your battery is 5000mah therfore charge it at 5c.
so the answer to your question is simply “yes”

don’t know about your charger but mine has a? STORAGE option. Basically it charges about 3/4 of it’s capacity so it is ok to store it
Can you charge using the balance plugs only??
Today most chargers have built in balancers so that? charger + separate extra balancer hardware is getting rare. But in no ways is that setup any less effective,
just less common.
