I bought mine back in Sept 2012. And only? recently looked into why the
backlit *”wasn’t working”* I know that, dell seemed to have put a non
back-lit keyboard in my laptop (as this model used to be able to come with
one in early 2012 so before I got mine). My laptop has all the right
hardware connection points and pre-installed software to run it so I’ll
just have to buy one from a parts shop to make it work. (£55~). Dell has
got around the problem with some nifty purchase stuff ticks.
On the keyboard there is an Fn key. Not pressing the keys f and n but Fn. If you hold Fn down and hit F6 then the keyboard should light up.?
Funny mine didn’t come with a back-lit keyboard yet it has the? drivers in the menus..
The dell inspiron 15r does have a i7 processor. I got the laptop for Christmas and it has been amazing. It is very fast and awesome. I would recommend getting it because I play video games like left 4 dead and other games like that and it runs them with no problem. If you are the only person who will be using the laptop you probably won’t need a whole TB. The battery life is also decent and the Inspiron comes with a lit? up keyboard by pressing Fn and then F6. I would recommend buying this.
I’m either thinking of this or the Inspiron 15z which i think has a touchscreen too. But its has 500GB? HHD compared to 1TB on this Inspiron. This one i am looking at has i5, whereas the 15z has i7. Just so you know, I don’t play games on my laptop.
oh, fair enough. i wasn’t aware that deal was on, i have an i7, 6gb, 1366×768 screen, 7730M and 750GB hard drive for £450 (with backlit keyboard) also doesnt have? a blu-ray drive.
i got the i5, 6gb ram, 2gb amd 7730 and blur ray? and 1080p screen for £444 on the dell website
I know. The one he got was not that, not for that price. I know because I bought EXACTLY the same laptop with EXACTLY the same specs. I bought it on the same? deal that he did. What he has is an i7 with no Full HD screen and no Blu-ray.
There are 3 SE versions NOT JUST ONE. 2 of which have an i7 the other one has i5? – the i5 one DOES have a full hd screen and blue ray player but is useless without buying media center add-on for windows 8 for under £10 or exactly $9.99

:O i got this laptop back in june. How come I don’t have a blue-ray drive? I specially asked dell if? they could provide a blue-ray drive in my laptop, they said it’s not supported in my model and this was the best model I found and couldn’t afford XPS.
What is this? Why didn’t they give me a Blue-Ray Drive??!?!

There are so many different spec that it is impossible to buy this exec spec that came out in August. If you want to get a good deal it is best to find coupon to buy direct from Dell. Never buy from 2 or 3 party as it is old hardware that they are just desperate to get rid of I’m hoping u did’t buy old spec. My? guess is u haven’t bought yours
