The particular model that I own is not. they do make some that? are for motorcycles. They are pretty water resistant though.
Is the garmen brand? waterproof?
Great vid @ZMagic97 !
I have the exact same Garmin sat nav and I am gonna try hook it up with my Suzuki Bandit.
Will it be possible for you to add an inventory list of what you used in your vid description? along with a rough idea? of the price. It’ll be really useful for me.
Keep it up!
Thanks
Do you have to disconnect it to jump the battery??
HI Zmagic how to find out? GPS instrument in my bike Karizma R????
HOW can I find out the GPS instrument is installed or not?
I think he ment the cig connector you bought as an extra. Just cut the? cigarett connetion off, and then do the negative to battery and pos to fusebox
awesome video i always wondered how to do this it’s MUCH easier than I thought i thought it was going to be hard and have lots? of tricks
ok u r the best teacher so far. i need to know what do. to plug in the usb. do i cut the wires on the cig lighter?use that end to the battery? or buy that insert for it, u have, and? use that on my bike.. im confused. this is the beginning.. then the rest will follow.. help!!!
can i connect directly to a spare battery i have, splicing wires? and where do u buy that cig lighter nicert thing just t test it out! i noticed my gps usb is not? universal so if i screw it up!!! IM SOL!
hi i fell of my bike to day i put on new indacaters but i turn tham on annd thay all? came on
That way it? shuts off when you turn the key off.
why not just cut the wire before the damn cigarette? connector? and just wire it into the battery directly? few extra unnecessary steps there if u ask me.
Hey? thanks, I went with a nuvi 550 and purchasing my DR-Z 400SM sometime this spring.
This is a great idea. I live in Alaska at the moment and am trying to convince the wife to let me ride? out to the lower 48 the next time we move. This would come in handy to track the miles and show a map for the ride.
For the part on the fuse box, if you wanted. You could take a little more time and take? the fuse box out and use a quick splice. It is easy and quick to splice the new wire into the old one, and you can wrap it to make it water proof.
Hey thanks for the reply and thats great to hear! I know it sounds odd to add a GPS to a bike such as the DR-Z but my sense of direction is horrible ha and the GPS makes? sense on the bike. I like to take detours and sometimes I end up getting lost along the way. Do you think I would see a big difference (maintenance, cold starting, winterzing) with the carb compared to EFI bike?
It should, yes.? By the way: DRZ are awesome!
Would this work on a Suzuki? DR-Z 400 SM?
how? about if I add a relay? however, thanks for the reply.
If you go right to the battery, it will drain the battery? in time due to the constant draw.
Hi bro . what if I just connect the wires directly to the? batteries? because my bike only using one fuse only.
One option which I prefer: if I am able to have a peep at my bike every now and then from a distance or from inside a store, my technique==> cover my Garmin76csx with the helmet and wrap the chin-strap around the base of mount just to give it a locked feel (slow down the thief in his? motive)& if you have tinted or shaded visor people won’t even notice the GPS inside the helmet
Ride Safe.
In my area atleast if im im? planing on being away from the bike for an extended period of time 30+mins i put the gps unit away.
Good advice here too, thanks! The part about? jamming the wire into the fusebox worried me a bit too. Everything else looks clean.
