UPS down Project 365(3) Day 211

I am thinking of renaming this album, “El Willo’s problem page because a number of the recent photos seem to have been about issues I have had to deal with.

Problem No xxx.

When the UPS that I brought from England would no longer hold its charge, I bought this one from Carrefour. Without any kind of control software, I had no idea how long it would run my computer for or whether it would shut it down gracefully so I replaced it with an APC Smart UPS. This one was then consigned to keeping my internet connection going during one of our frequent power cuts.

When we had the new air conditioning installed this was disconnected but not switched off so It ran for about ten minutes or so, signalling as it went along. Eventually the battery died and peace was restored.

Since then it has signalled faults intermittently – not a problem unless it decided to do that in the middle of the night. Lo and behold, on Tuesday it started making its merry little beeping noises at about 11pm so, rather than run the risk of being kept awake all night, I disconnected it.

Now, I suppose, I have to dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way
