How to extend your Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop battery life?
Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop batteries seem to be fond easily these days. We can find them in our laptops. We all want to make our batteries last as long as possible, and how can we extend our laptop batteries.I find some useful advices from articles.
The first: Battery Memory – When I first got my laptop, my friend recommended to fully drain the battery before recharging it. His reasoning was connected to the idea of battery memory. allowing the battery to fully discharge then recharging to max, supposedly gives you the complete battery capacity. Otherwise, if you simply charged from the half way point to max battery capacity, the battery would treat the half way point as the empty point, thus cutting your battery capacity in half. The good news is today\’s laptop batteries have a safety circuit in place to insure the battery doesn\’t reach the point of no return. The safety circuit isn\’t fool proof of course, if you leave your battery completely drained for a few days, even the circuit\’s protective measures won\’t save it.
The second: Battery Calibrating – There is some benefits to fully discharging your Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop battery periodically, this can be especially important. If you start to notice your battery meter is becoming more and more inaccurate, it may be time for some battery calibration. By allowing your Dell INSPIRON 6000 to fully drain, this will help the Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop battery recalibrate allowing for more accurate measurements of battery life. This should be done once every 30 charges or when you notice battery readings are off.
The third: Consequences of Heat – another enemy of Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop battery life is heat. If you were to leave your laptop plugged in and running for a year, you should expect the Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop battery capacity to be anywhere between 60% to 80% of it\’s original max capacity. This is why people that use their laptops as desktop replacements will notice greatly reduced battery life performance after one year of use. This issue can be resolved by removing the battery while using a corded power source. Now you may want to check with your manufacturer ahead of time to check for safety concerns, some manufacturers have mentioned problems such as moisture and dust collecting in the battery casing.
The fouth: Battery Storage – If you plan on not using the Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop battery for prolonged periods of time, then you\’ll want to have the charge level at 40% and place the battery in the fridge (not freezer). Storing the Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop battery at 100% charge level applies unnecessary stress and can cause internal corrosion. On the other hand, if the charge is too low, the Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop battery can become permanently unusable, due to battery self discharge. This is why manufacturers recommend storing your battery at 40% charge, rather than either extreme .
always keep a spare battery so that you\’ll never miss a Important fair. Here you will find some of the best prices on replacement Dell INSPIRON 6000 SERIES Battery ,Dell INSPIRON 6000laptop battery adater(chargers), Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop battery reviews, features, specifications and related accessories.

Replacement Laptop Battery For DELL Inspiron 6000
Specifications Part No: Inspiron 6000 Product ID: NDE030 Battery Type: Li-ion Volt: 11.1 V Capacity: 4400mAh Weight: 481.95g Dimension: 209.40×71.80×19.80mm Color: Black Org. Price: AU $ 136.32 Promotion Price: AU .33 (inc. GST) DELL Laptop Battery Articles & Tips
A new DELL laptop battery comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to the devices manual for charging instructions). Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the digital camcorder DELL Inspiron 6000 may require three to four charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity. New DELL Inspiron 6000 needs to be fully charged and discharged (cycled) a few times before it can condition to full capacity. Rechargeable batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused. Always store a Laptop Battery pack in a fully charged staged for storage. When charging the DELL Inspiron 6000 for the first time the device may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Remove the camcorder batteries from the device, reinsert it and repeat the charging procedure
It is important to condition (fully discharge and then fully charge) the DELL Inspiron 6000 every two to three weeks. Failure to do so may significantly shorten the battery’s life (this does not apply to Li-ion batteries, which do not require conditioning). To discharge, simply run the device under the battery’s power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning. Then recharge the battery as instructed in the user’s manual. If the battery will not be in use for a month or longer, it is recommended that DELL Inspiron 6000 be removed from the device and stored in a cool, dry, clean place.
Invest in a good charger for your camcorder. Ni-MH batteries should not be charged in a NiCad charger, unless the charger is specifically made for both chemistries. There are cheap chargers and there are expensive chargers. Make sure the charger you get has good reviews and is well made. Chargers with micro-controller chips are usually the best choice of your digital camcorder.
Be sure to store your Laptop Battery properly. Do not leave your batteries in a hot car, or in humid conditions. The best storage conditions are a cool, dry place. The refrigerator is fine if you stick in a packet of silica gel with your DELL Inspiron 6000 in a sealed bag to keep them dry. It is a good idea to charge your NiCad or Ni-MH batteries fully before use if they have been in storage.
Upgrade my DELL Laptop Battery From Ni-MH to Li-ion
NiCad, Ni-MH and Li-ion DELL Laptop Battery is all fundamentally different from one another and cannot be substituted unless the Laptop has been pre-configured from the manufacturer to accept more than one type of battery chemistry. Please refer to your manual to find out which rechargeable battery types the laptop device supports or use our DELL Battery Finder above to find all the compatible Laptop Battery for your device. It will automatically list all of the battery chemistries supported by your specific device. If your device does allow you to upgrade the battery from Ni-MH to Li-ion, you will typically get longer run time.
For example, if your Laptop uses a NI-MH battery that is 9.6 Volts, 4000mAh and the new Li-ion Laptop Battery is 14.4 Volt, 3600mAh, then you will obtain longer run time with the Li-ion battery.
Li-ion: 14.4 Volts x 3.6 Amperes = 51.84 Watt Hours
Ni-MH: 9.6 Volts x 4 Amperes = 38.4 Watt Hours
The Li-ion is stronger and has longer run time.
How Can I Maximize the performance of My DELL Laptop Battery?
There are several steps you can take to help you get maximum performance from your Laptop Battery:
Prevent the Memory Effect – Keep the Laptop Battery healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-ion batteries which do not suffer from the memory effect.
Keep the DELL Laptop Battery Clean – It’s a good idea to clean dirty battery contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol. This helps maintain a good connection between the battery and the portable device.
Exercise the Battery – Do not leave the battery dormant for long periods of time. We recommend using the battery at least once every two to three weeks. If an Laptop Battery has not been used for a long period of time, perform the new battery break in procedure described above.
Battery Storage – If you don’t plan on using the Laptop Battery for a month or more, store it in a clean, dry, cool place away from heat and metal objects. NiCad, Ni-MH and Li-ion batteries will self-discharge during storage; remember to recharge the batteries before use.
What is The Run Time of Battery-Company.com.au’s Laptop Battery?
DELL Laptop Battery have two main ratings on them: Volts and Amperes. Because size and weight of Laptop Battery is limited when compared to larger batteries such as car batteries, most companies show their ratings with Volts and Mill amperes. One thousand Mill amperes equals 1 Ampere. When buying a battery, select batteries with the most Mill amperes (or mAh). Batteries are also rated by Watt-Hours, perhaps the simplest rating of all. This is found by multiplying the Volts and the Amperes together. For example:
14.4 Volts, 4000mAh (Note: 4000mAh is equal to 4.0 Amperes).
14.4 x 4.0 = 57.60 Watt-Hours
Watt-Hours signify the energy needed to power one watt for one hour. This DELL Laptop Battery can power 57.60 watts for one hour. If your laptop runs at 20.50 watts, as an example, this laptop battery could power your laptop for 2.8 hours.
