Part 2 of 2 In this series I convert an APC Back UPS 650 into a standalone inverter / battery maintainer / UPS / power conditioner. I test the unit, do a very general overview of how it works, upgrade it’s power and runtime capabilities, and add extra cooling while explaining how and why I did each step along the way. I enjoy tinkering with old equipment and thought I’d make two projects out of one by creating this video at the same time. Enjoy. Now see the followup video here: youtu.be
Dell: Inspiron 14R-N4010 Hard drive replace & dis-assembly. My first shot at a how to video. Figured it’d be fun. Not entirely too enthused about how it turned out, I see where I could have done a lot better, and will hope to improve upon in future repair videos. I know. Probably could have done without some crude & foul commentary. But what can I do to inject my own style into my own videos? Also, I do see a few too many repair videos that have no commentary. Music, silence, or written word. As well as, lack dialogue about small details or warnings to watch out for while doing a repair on laptops, which could possibly be easier to destroy, than they are to fix. I do hope this proved to helpful in your repair endeavors. Before showing the making of my 18650 Box Mod, I cover the schematic and how the personal vaporizer works. I also show the AwesomeVapor Ego, a great PV that I bought from awesomevapor.com — great folks, excellent service, I highly recommend them, and their Ego. All the parts used in my mod came from: Radio Shack – the box, pushbutton, and battery holder (that I cut up for piece parts) – I could have gotten these from madvapes but happened to stop by my local Radio Shack for the fun of it. madvapes.com – the LED, resistor, battery-atomizer connector batteryjunction.com – They have a deal on 2 protected 2400maH 18650 batteries and charger. Wow! Target – Hot glue Harbor Freight – JB stick Epoxy putty Be extremely careful working with lithium ion batteries. ALWAYS use a PROTECTED Lithium Ion battery so that it will not overcharge or under-volt because they will explode and burn. Recharge these batteries outside on concrete under constant supervision in case they explode and burn while recharging. Unplug the charger and remove the battery(ies) as soon as charging is complete. Please do NOT attempt to make a pv e-cig mod unless you are an experienced electronic technician or a well-seasoned electrical-mechanical engineer. Each solder connection is critical, make it mechanical and then solder. Always remember, exploding lithium ion batteries can burn down your house and/or kill you and the ones you love!!! I got this laptop from Walmart for 388 Thursday night, it would normally cost like 500 something. I waited in line for it for around 30 minutes, but it’s worth the wait. This my first laptop! Now with the laptop, it runs Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), it comes with a good processor, it has a AMD Radeon graphics card inside. It comes with a 500 GB hard drive, 4.5 hours of battery life, I tried the webcam and it seems okay. My Review: I like the laptop but it plays games like Minecraft lags a lot than my older games, the webcam is kind of blurry when there is light nearby me and the hard drive holds a lot of stuff and it would be great for video making if I using Fraps to make videos on it. I like the keybord but in some laptops like this one, I know it comes with a keypad and it a good standard! I like the touchpad and I like the anti-touchpad feature when I press the button two times in that case if I using a mouse for my laptop.
